CHBA South Okanagan is the recognized voice of the residential construction industry in our region. We advocate on behalf of our members at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels of government—working to advance policies that support housing affordability, cut unnecessary red tape, and promote a healthy, sustainable building environment.
Whether it’s influencing building code updates, streamlining permitting processes, addressing workforce challenges, or supporting infrastructure investments, we work year-round to ensure our members’ interests are front and centre with decision-makers.
Our advocacy efforts include regular meetings, written submissions, and participation in key initiatives such as:
CHBA BC Legislature Day CHBA South Okanagan joins fellow members from across British Columbia to meet with provincial Ministers and MLAs. Together, we raise pressing housing and development issues directly with policymakers.
CHBA National Day on the Hill Each year, we travel to Ottawa to meet with Members of Parliament and senior federal staff. Our focus: national housing policy, skilled trades development, infrastructure investment, and improving affordability for Canadians.
Local Government Engagements We maintain active relationships with local governments throughout the South Okanagan and Kootenays, ensuring that municipal policies and development processes align with the needs of the residential construction industry.
By building and maintaining strong connections at all levels of government, CHBA South Okanagan ensures that builders, renovators, trade professionals, and suppliers have a seat at the table—and a strong, united voice in the conversations that shape the future of housing in our communities.
